- Open the controller box (Opening the Controller Box)
- Remove the controller box cover (Removing the Controller Box Cover, Inner Cover)
- Remove the ADF (ADF Removal)
- Set the ADF on the floor.

- Remove the rear flat plate (
x5).

- Remove the āLā cover (
x1,
x2).

- Remove the right flat plate (
x1).

- Remove the right stay (
x2).

- Disconnect the ADF cables from the left rear corner of the SIOB (
x2).

- Above the SIOB, free the ADF harness at [A] and [B] (
x3).

- Free the ADF harnesses under the rear edge of the machine (
x3).

- Disconnect the scanner harness [A] (
x1,
x1). - Remove the ferrite core [B].

- Pull the ADF harness through the hole and out of the controller box.

- Push the ADF harness up into the machine
, and then pull it out
.

- Remove the large screw from each corner of the scanner unit [A], [B], [C], [D] (
x4).

- Lay the free harness in the center of the scanner unit.
- Lift the scanner unit by its handles on both sides, pull it out of the machine, and then lay it on a clean flat surface. Weight: 8 kg (17.6 lb.).
