The remaining procedures are the same for both the copier model and the printer model.
- Disconnect the attention light base [A] (
x3).
- Disconnect the bottom of the attention light [B] and remove the light (
x2,
x1).
- On the right side, remove the LCIT heater connector cover plate [A] (
x1).
- Disconnect the right cover [B] (
x7).
- Lift the cover base [A] and pull the right cover away from the machine.
- Disconnect the top of the operation panel arm cover [A] (cap x1,
x1).
- Disconnect the side of the operation panel arm cover [A] and then remove it (
x1).
Disconnect the metal base [A] of the operation panel (
x3).
Do not loosen the shoulder screws [B].
- Open the harness clamps [A], and then free the harnesses [B] (
x3).
- Disconnect the harnesses (
x3).
- Open the ferrite core, and then remove it.
- Push the end of the operation panel arm [A] toward the front of the machine.
- Remove the base of the arm from the anchor screws [B], and then lay the base down next to the anchor screws.
- Slowly pull the harnesses through the hole.
- Pick the operation panel up, and then lay it down on a flat clean surface.
- Open the toner bank door.
- Pull off the clip and remove the toner bank door [A] (
x1).
- Remove the toner bank front cover [A] (
x3).
- Disconnect the front left corner of the canopy [A] (
x1).
- Disconnect the top front of the canopy [B] (cap x1,
x1).
- Disconnect the right side of the canopy (
x2).
At the rear [A], remove the filter bracket and filter from the back of the canopy (
x1).
Note the position of the notch on the edge of the filter. It must be re-installed in the same way.
- At the rear, disconnect the top of the canopy [A] (
x1).
- Disconnect the left rear corner of the canopy [B] (
x2).
- Remove the canopy [A].
Re-installation: Setting the Canopy
The procedures below are for the printer model only.
You need to be careful when you re-install the canopy cover to avoid damaging the cushions at the front and rear of the stay [A].
- Slowly, set the canopy on top of the toner bank.
- At the front and rear, set a scale on the stay and confirm that there is no gap between the edge of the canopy [A] and the top of the stay below.
If you see a gap as shown at [B], this means that the left edge of the canopy is riding up on one or both cushions.
- Be sure to check at both the front and the rear of the canopy cover for any gap.
- If you see a gap, carefully remove the canopy and set it again, and then use the scale again to confirm that there is no gap.
Ferrite Core
- Before you re-attach the right cover, re-attach the ferrite core [A].
Connect the harnesses and close the clamps [B] (
x3,
x3).
To prevent noise interference, make sure that the ferrite core is re-attached correctly and securely locked.
