Remove the SPDF front cover. (SPDF Front Cover)
Remove the SPDF rear cover. (SPDF Rear Cover)
Remove the original feed unit. (Original Feed Unit)
Remove the SPDF inner cover [A].
Lift the back of the SPDF inner cover [A] while raising the original tray [B], and then slide the SPDF inner cover toward the back of the SPDF unit.
Release the four hooks in the order shown below, and then remove the ferrite core [B] from the holder to disconnect the FFC [A].
Release the routed harnesses from the harness guide [A], and then remove it.
Remove the gear bracket [A].
Remove the gears [A].
Do not remove the gear [B] (this prevents inner pin [C] from falling into the machine).
Open the SPDF unit [A] while holding the gear [B] by hand, and open the scanning guide plate (rear side) [C] by pulling the release lever [D].
- Hold the gear [B]. It is not fastened, and it may drop into the machine.
- Open the scanning guide plate (rear side) [C] before replacing the CIS unit. Otherwise, the surface could be damaged.
Pull out the CIS unit [A] from the SPDF unit.
- The CIS unit can be easily removed by pushing it from behind.
