- Raise the ADF.
- Disconnect the rear end of the right edge cover [1].
- Slide the cover to the rear [2].
- Remove the cover [3].
- Remove the rear scale [A].
- Remove the left exposure glass edge cover.
- Remove the exposure glass.
At the right front corner of the machine [A], turn the scanner motor belt and move the 1st scanner unit to the left edge of the lens cover [B].
With the harness on the left, slide the scanner heater [A] under the 2nd carriage, and then arrange it parallel to the back of the scanner unit [B].
- Pull the heater harness through the left side of the scanner unit.
- Disconnect the left edge cover [A], and then remove it, so you can see cut-out [B].
Insert a screwdriver into the cut-out [A], and then loosely fasten the left end of the heater.
Attach the right end of the heater [B].
Tighten both screws.
On the left side of the scanner unit, clamp the heater harness, and then connect it to the harness pre-installed on the side of the machine.
- Turn ON the scanner heater switch.
