When Bypass Feed Tray is selected to feed paper, the Bypass Bottom plate is lifted up, and then the Bypass Feed Clutch is turned on to rotate the Bypass Feed Roller.
The friction pad ensures that only the sheet on the top is fed out. Once the paper is fed out, the Duplex Exit Clutch is turned on to feed the paper into the same path as for paper from the Paper Feed Tray. When the paper activates the Registration Sensor, the Bypass Feed Clutch is turned off. Once the toner pattern formed on the transfer belt is moved to the correct position, the Registration Clutch is turned on to feed the paper to the Image Transfer Unit.
