- Single-sheet Fold: The paper bumps against the 1st stopper [A] to make an arch in the paper near the 1st fold nip [B]. With this arch, paper is fed into the 1st fold nip [B] and the 1st fold is formed. Then the paper bumps against the 2nd stopper [C] and the 2nd fold is formed at the 2nd fold nip [D]. At this time, the locations of the 1st stopper [A] and the 2nd stopper [C] vary depending on the mode: Letter Fold-in, Letter Fold-out, Double-parallel Fold.
- Double-sheet Fold: 1 to 3 sheets of paper are pre-stacked while bumping against the 1st stopper [A]. The fold plate [E] presses the paper into the 1st fold nip [B] and the 1st fold is formed. The following steps are the same as for single-sheet folding.
