1. Remove the rear middle cover [A].

    • Check the position of bosses and hooks before removing the cover.

  2. Remove the controller box cover [A].
  3. Disconnect the two modular harnesses [A] (LINE1) and [B] (TEL) from the FCU.
  4. Remove the modular bracket [A] from the controller box.
  5. Remove the fax unit [A] from the controller board.
  6. Remove the FCU board [A] from the fax unit.
  7. Change the orientation of the battery jumper switch [A] on the removed FCU board. Then attach another battery jumper switch [B] to the FCU board.
The battery jumper switch [B] is supplied with the new FCU board.

  8. Install the new FCU board [A] on the fax unit.
  9. Switch the battery jumper switch [A] of the FCU board to the "ON" position before installing the fax unit on the controller board.

    • If you don't switch the battery jumper switch position, the following situation will occur.
      • SC820 will occur.
      • The registered data will not be saved when you turn off the main power switch.

  10. Install the fax unit [A] on the controller board.
  11. Attach the modular bracket [A] to the controller box.
  12. Connect the two modular harness [A] (LINE1) and [B] (TEL) to the FCU.
  13. Attach the bracket for holding the old FCU board [A].
This bracket is provided with the new FCU board.
  14. Connect the flat flexible cable [A] to the new FCU board.
This flexible cable is provided with the new FCU board.
  15. Attach the old FCU board [A] to the bracket.
  16. Connect the flat flexible cable to the old FCU board [A].
  17. Insert the power plug into the outlet. Turn ON the main power of the machine.
  18. SRAM data transmission starts. When the transmission is completed, you will hear a beeper sound.

    • The beeper sound is the same volume as the speaker sound.

    • The beeper sounds even if the speaker sound is turned off.

    • If the beeper does not sound, turn the main power switch on and off repeatedly and do the transmission procedure 2 or 3 times.

    • If the beeper does not sound after turning the main switch on and off 3 times, you need to input the settings stored in SRAM memory manually.

  19. When “Ready” appears on the copy display, turn OFF the main power switch, and then disconnect the flat flexible cable (connected in step 14 and 16) from the old FCU board.
  20. Remove the old FCU board and bracket from the controller box.
  21. Reinstall the controller box cover.
  22. Reinstall the rear middle cover.
  23. Turn ON the main power switch, then do SP6-101 to print the system parameter list.
  24. Check the system parameter list to make sure that the data was transferred correctly.
  25. Set the correct data and time with the User Tools: User Tools > System Settings > Timer Setting > Set Date/Time.

    • If any of the SRAM data was not transferred, input those settings manually.
