Set the setting of SP2-109-003 (Test Pattern) to “12 (Independent Pattern 2 dot)”.
Print the test pattern.
Is there uneven density between the left and right of the image?
Yes: Go to next step.
No: Finish
Does the problem occur periodically at 40 mm interval?
Yes: Go to next step.
No: Refer to other troubleshooting.
Execute “Process Control (SP3-011-001)”.
Normally, Process Control is executed at a first print just after turning on the machine. However, the adjustment of the AC charge bias may not be completed at once if the machine is located in the low temperature and low humidity condition. Therefore, execute the process control again manually.
Print the target image.
Is the printed image acceptable?
Yes: Finish
No: Go to next step.
Increase the room temperature (guideline: 20°C or higher) and wait for 30 minutes at least.
Increasing the room temperature can restrain the increase of the charge roller resistance, and then solve the insufficient charge for the drum.
Print the target image.
Is the printed image acceptable?
Yes: Finish
No: Go to next step.
Turn on the anti-condensation heater.
Turning on the anti-condensation heater can maintain adequate temperature inside the machine even if the main power of the machine is turned off.
Print the target image.
Is the printed image acceptable?
Yes: Finish
No: Go to next step.
Replace the charger unit.
If the problem cannot be solved by steps 5 to 7 above and if immediate response is necessary, replace the charger unit.
