Uploading Content of NVRAM to an SD card

Do the following procedure to upload SP code settings from NVRAM to an SD card.

Note

  • This data should always be uploaded to an SD card before the NVRAM is replaced.

  • Make sure that the write protection of an SD card is unlocked.

1Execute SP5-990-001 (SP Print Mode: All (Data List)) before you turn OFF the main power. You will need a record of the NVRAM settings if the upload fails.

2Turn OFF the main power.

3Remove the controller cover. (MP 501/601: Controller Cover, SP 5300/5310: Controller Cover)

4Insert the SD card into SD Card Slot 2 (lower) [A].

5Turn ON the main power.

6Press [Execute] in SP5-824-001 (NVRAM Data Upload).

7The following files are coped to an NVRAM folder on the SD card when the upload procedure is finished. The file is saved to the path and the following filename:

NVRAM\<serial number>.NV

Here is an example with Serial Number "K5000017114":

NVRAM\K5000017114.NV

8In order to prevent an error during the download, be sure to mark the SD card that holds the uploaded data with the number of the machine from which the data was uploaded.

Note

  • You can upload NVRAM data from more than one machine to the same SD card.
